Global ICAP leadership training was held at Phuket during 17-29 June 2007. Rev Khoi Lam Thang (TO) and Saw Soe Lin (CAP Staff) represented the Bible Society of Myanmar. The CAP leaders from four areas of UBS well attended and discussed the future development of Paratext 7 and many other issues.

The annual Asia Pacific Area Translation Consultation

Phuket, Thailand

June 11-16, 2007

The annual Asia Pacific Area Translation Consultation for 2007 was held in Phuket, Thailand during June 11-16, 2007. Translation Secretary Sayama Aye Aye Chit and Translation Officer Rev Khoi Lam Thang attended. Mark Strauss from Bethel Theological Seminary, U.S was the main lecturer. Rev Khoi Lam Thang presented a paper on "Eagle in Myanmar Bible Judson Version". The paper discussed that the Judson version of Shwe Lin Ta is not wrong, even if people prefer Lin Yung. The participants enterestingly reponded. One participant from Fiji said, that he is surpeised by knowing 'Eagle' edition, and there was also one crucial word in their language that, who knows in the near future there will be 'Blessing edition' in Fiji Bible.

Representatives from Bible Society of Myanmar had a good time to talk with Asia-Pacific Area Translation Coordinator Rev Daud Soesilo (right) and their Supervising Consultant Dr Yu Sue Yan (left) duing one meal time. They specifically discussed about the translation checkings of current Projects in Myanmar. Aye Aye Chit will be handling Hawa Naga OT Translation Project and Khoi Lam Thang will be incharge of Zotung OT Translation Project starting from this year.
