United Bible societies Asia Pacific Area Board Meeting

September 27-28, 2004

The United Bible Societies Asia Pacific Area Board Meeting was held in Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar. This Area Board Meeting was the first ever held in Myanmar and hosted by the Bible Society of Myanmar.

The meeting was held at Panda Hotel, September 27-28, 2004 under the leadership of the Rt. Rev. Bishop Alexander John Malik from Pakistan, the Board chairman and Mr. David Thorne, Associate General Secretary of UBS. There are altogether 17 participants from 14 countries including some staff from the Regional Service Center.

Some participants attended the worship services on 26th October, 2004 at Judson church where Bishop Malik preached. There was a special fellowship dinner on the evening of 27th October hosted by the Kachin Baptist Church attended by the Area Board members, the Heads of the churches in Myanmar, Board members of the Bible Society of Myanmar and special invited guests. It was a very significant and joyful fellowship dinner, witnessing the oneness in Christ and unity in Bible ministry. BSM-news
