1. Sgaw Kayin Common Language Bible

 

The Sgaw Kayin Language New Testament was published 15,000 copies in 1994 and distributed to the Sgaw Kayin Churches. The Old Testament Project was started in 1995 with four translators. All the checking processes were completed in 2003. The dedication of the Sgaw Kayin Common Language Bible was held in January 4th 2004 attended by over 6000 people. The Sgaw Kayin people are now anxiously waiting for this new version of Sgaw Kayin Bible.

2. Lhaovo Common Language New Testament

 

The Lhaovo people are one of the ethnic minority groups of the kachin tribe with the population over 100,000. This project was started in 1988 and was competed in 2003. This is the first New Testament for the Lhaovo people.

3. Tedim Chin Bible (Revision)

 

Tedim Chin has the complete New  Testament since 1932, in the translation made by missionary to the Chins Dr. J. Hebert Cope. The Old Testament was translated by Rev. Kam Khaw Thang and the entire Tedim Chin Bible was published in 1983. The Tedim Chin revision project began in November 1989 and completed in 1994. This was a moderate revision. The reviser was the Old Testament  translator and he was assisted by three committee members. Translation Consultant checking and keyboarding was completed in 1996. CAP checking was finished and it is ready to be printed in 2004.

4. Siyin Chin Common Language Bible

 

 The Siyin Chin Common Language New Testament was translated and publish in November 2000. After that they continued to translate the Old Testament. The project was completed in 2004. The Siyin Chin people have a goal to get the whole Bible printed and distributed in April 2004, during the planned 100 anniversary of the first conversion of Chin Christians to Christianity, in khawsak, Siyin Valley, Chin State.

5. Jinghpaw Common Language New Testament

 

Kachin is the name commonly applied to the six hundred thousand tribemen calling themselves Jinghpaw. There are numerous languages and dialects spoken by Kachin tribesmen and among them Jinghpaw was used in translating the Bible. At that time about two-thirds of all adult understand Jinghpaw. They have their first Biblr in 1927 by missionary translator Ola Hanson. The Jinghpaw Common Language New Testament project was started since 1990 and the translation ans translation Consultant checking was completed in 2000. The CAP checking was also completed in 2003 and now it was ready to be printed. The Jinghpaw people especially the young people are longing for their first Common Language New Testament at the earliest possible.

6. Myanmar Common language Bible

 

This project was started by the Bible Society of Myanmar over 30 years ago, in early 1970. A Committee of five, all top church leaders, was formed and work went on for about fifteen years when it was completed. The first common Language New Testament was published in 1984. Some minor errors were corrected and was published for second time in 2001. The Translation Consultant checking, the final proof reading and the typesetting for the whole Bible are now completed and it would be ready for printing in 2004.
